How does it work?

Using well-established and researched mental techniques, I will teach you how to use your mind to make the changes you want: to get you out of a rut and become who you want to be. 

You might want help with physical challenges. We know that changing how you think about things can directly change how you experience them. In a trance you can imagine scenarios that are so realistic and believable that the body responds with real physical changes. Hypnosis can be used in medical procedures to reduce or remove the need for anaesthesia, whilst also reducing stress and improving rates of recovery.  

Hypnotherapy can help you change how you think. In a trance the normal analytical ways of thinking become much less dominant and instead your mind has free rein to contemplate and imagine, to think laterally, to reflect. When hypnotised you move towards a lovely elastic state of mind in which you are ready and more accepting of new ideas. Like bringing fresh eyes to an old problem.

What is it like being in a trance?


When you go into a hypnotic trance you slip into a day-dream-like state in which you become focused on the thoughts in your head rather than on the world around you. It’s relaxing and actually very normal: we can drift into a light trance many times a day, lost in thought when washing–up, or when driving on a motorway. In a trance state, even though your focus is elsewhere, you are still aware of what’s around you and able to fully re-engage with the real world in an instant. Contrary to what some people think, you cannot be asked to do anything against your will and there is no involuntary loss of control. You remain in charge.
